S4C has print and digital competitions one Saturday
a month. The maximum number of entries are two per competition per month.
Competitions (categories) are:
Prints: Large Pictorial (Color), Small Pictorial (Color) and
Monochrome.
Digital: Color, Color Creative (computer manipulation) , Nature
General, Nature Wildlife, Photo Travel, Monochrome and Photojournalism.
S4C disallows borders on digital images in
the reality based divisions of Nature, Photo Travel and Journalism.
If you missed previous months you may enter up to
two make-ups, making four per competition. Individual digital images must be
received by S4C by 11:59 PM on the last day of the preceding month.
Prints may be entered between 8 and 8:45 AM on
the day of the competition.
Small
prints are a maximum of 8 and a half inches by twelve inches (which can be on a
mat or mount board of up to 11" x 14"). Large prints are up 16" by 20",
including the mount board. Frames and glass
are not allowed. The categories are Monochrome and Pictorial (color).
Effective with the
November 2008
competition, we are making a significant series of changes to how you enter
print competitions and how they are managed.
These changes may appear radical at first but are designed to make it easier
to operate our print competitions; reduce the amount of volunteer labor
required; and (once you get used to it!) to make it easier to enter. The
most important change is that – effective with the November competition –you
must pre-enter the
print competitions by completing and
submitting an entry form no later than the last day of the month immediately
preceding the competition (October 31 for the November competition, for
example): just as we have been doing with digital competitions for some
time. Prints will still be brought as usual on the actual day of the
competition, but no prints will be accepted for
which an entry form has not been pre-submitted!
Prints must also be brought before 8:45 am on
the day of the competition to be accepted for entry.
Depending on the number of points scored, your photos may win an Award
(A) or Honorable Mention (HM).
There is no charge for your entries!
